Good Afternoon Parents and Caregivers
Book Week Parade
Tomorrow morning, we will celebrate reading with our postponed Book Week parade. We look forward to seeing the students dress up as their favourite book character, bringing the book with them to the parade. Parents are welcome to join us on the school oval at 9am for our parade. Sargent Ken, Pricilla and Riley from Helping Hands will join us and be our judges. A huge thank you to Helping Hands for donating the prizes for each year level.
Class teachers will continue to promote the excitement about reading with some opportunities to explore the books their students identify as favourites. Ms Wilkinson and Mrs Hetherington have done a fabulous job creating excitement in the library this week as well as organising the parade!
We look forward to a wonderful morning!

We look forward to the feedback.

Dear Families and Friends
World Teachers’ Day
On Friday 29th October (it’s now a holiday so we are celebrating our hard working teachers on Monday 1 November) we recognise and celebrate the important work our teachers do here at Dayboro State School. We are very fortunate to have a hard working, caring and supportive team of professionals who strive every day to provide a quality education for our students. Every day they are making a difference and we thank you teachers, for your dedication and the positive impact you deliver.
INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
We welcome Mr Yates, our new Instrumental Teacher, to our Dayboro team. He is here every Tuesday and has already started rehearsing Band Tuesday mornings. We also had some students attend the Advanced Music Workshops this week and wish them all the best.
PREP ORIENTATION MORNING
This term we are holding our Prep 2022 Orientation mornings for students so they can visit our school and learn more about our Prep classrooms. The first visit is on Monday 25th October from 9-9:30am. Some children will be attending with their local Kindy. Parents are also welcome to bring their children not attending childcare that day. The uniform shop will also be open during this time so parents can try on and purchase uniforms.
Now that the days are starting to get warmer please remember that it is an expectation that all children wear hats during play times and PE lessons. The rule is “No Hat, no Play!”
Children that do not wear hats are expected to be in the CSA areas during break times.

1/2A have had their first lesson trying new songs on our keyboards in music class! We have some real officionados in our community.
Our year 5 & 6 students also have a new mystery piece we are learning. Do you know what this song is called?
Jesse Moulds
Music Teacher
It has been great to see our children quickly settle back into before and after school care routines. Warmer weather means physical activity has increased in interest, particularly games like red rover, basketball, handball and skipping. These games have encouraged social skill development and co-ordination; both heavily used in team sports like soccer, rugby league, cricket and netball to name a few.
Art and Sustainability clubs are both running again this term. Our art club has fostered confidence in children to regularly express their creativity and individuality through various art forms. Sustainability club has seen children develop awareness of how small changes can have positive environmental impacts.
Congratulations to our newly appointed junior and senior co-ordinators for term 4!
After School Care – Junior: Kate Neuherz, Senior: Makynli Allen
Before School Care – Junior: Sienna Burns
A reminder that children require a hat and re-fillable drink bottle each session. Please ensure these are correctly labelled should they get misplaced.
If your child/ren will be absent from a session, please ensure they are marked absent on the iparent portal. This is done under the bookings tab by selecting the date/session and clicking the red x on the right. Please see one of our educators for support if you are experiencing issues making or managing your bookings. Failure to notify us of absences in after school care means educators are having to search for children and a no-show fee may be applied to your account. A reminder that bookings with less than 24hrs will need to be made via contacting the service on 0459 991 697.
Looking to join in on the fun? Enrolling your child/ren is easy and there are no enrolment fees. Visit www.helpinghandsnetwork.com.au , click Register on the top right corner, select Dayboro as your service and fill in all the details to register your iParent Portal account and enrol. When this is submitted, we will be in touch as soon as possible to support the finalisation of your enrolment and initial bookings. If you have any issues, please contact Jenny at the service on 0459 991 697 or our customer accounts on 1300 612 462.
