Good Afternoon Parents and Caregivers
Book Week Parade
Tomorrow morning, we will celebrate reading with our postponed Book Week parade. We look forward to seeing the students dress up as their favourite book character, bringing the book with them to the parade. Parents are welcome to join us on the school oval at 9am for our parade. Sargent Ken, Pricilla and Riley from Helping Hands will join us and be our judges. A huge thank you to Helping Hands for donating the prizes for each year level.
Class teachers will continue to promote the excitement about reading with some opportunities to explore the books their students identify as favourites. Ms Wilkinson and Mrs Hetherington have done a fabulous job creating excitement in the library this week as well as organising the parade!
We look forward to a wonderful morning!

School Review this week
A reminder that we have a team from the School Improvement branch with us this week to review our school and to see what amazing teaching and learning we have here at Dayboro SS. The team: Darren Marsh, Leanne Duncan and Ken Swann will work with our staff, students and community to celebrate the great work and also provide us with feedback on what our next steps as a school could be. We look forward to the feedback.
Our parent group are meeting with the school review team on Wednesday 20 October at 8:15am in the school hall. All parents are welcome to attend to discuss our school with the school reviewer.
World Teachers Day – Monday week 5!
On Monday 1 November, we will celebrate World Teachers’ Day! I am sure that you will join me in congratulating our wonderful Dayboro SS Teachers for everything they do each and every day to foster learning by creating a super supportive and engaging learning environment. I know that they go the extra mile for our students!

Class Considerations for 2022
We are continuing to plan for resources and staffing for 2022. We would appreciate you keeping in contact with the administration team about your child’s enrolment (if changing) for 2022.
If you have any matters you would like us to consider for your child’s class placement in 2022, please complete the Class Considerations form (attached below) and return to the principal email - Principal@dayboross.eq.edu.au by Thursday 28 October.
If your child will not be returning to Dayboro SS in 2022, could you please let us know so we can ensure our staffing and resources are as accurate as possible. Thanks for your assistance.
Have a great week!
