Dear Parents and Caregivers
As we head into the final few days of Terms 2, I would like to take the opportunity to say thankyou to the school community for the continued support this term.
Although we were and are still facing challenges with COVID-19, flu outbreaks and general illnesses amongst our students and staff, we have, as a school community tackled the challenges presented and continued to move forward with learning and school activities. All planned activities were able to go ahead this term including Sports Day, Fanfare, Readers Cup, and excursions and it was wonderful that our parents and community members were able to be a part of the narrative. Teachers are currently planning their next steps for Term 3 and I commend them for their continued emphasis on providing the best opportunities for the students at Dayboro.
As this is my final week at Dayboro, before going on extended leave, I would like to express my gratitude to the school and wider Dayboro community for the tremendous support I have received as principal of the school for the past 10 years. It has been a pleasure to be involved in such a vibrant and supportive community and to meet so many parents, students and community members over the period of time. I look forward with excitement to celebrating the 150th anniversary of the school in 2024.
I have often described the Principalship of Dayboro as one of the best opportunities in the Department of Education and I wish the new Principal of the school well in joining the Dayboro community. I understand that there is a delay at a central level with the announcement of the new principal not being made until possibly after the school holidays. I will ensure that the school community is informed as soon as details become known to me.
Best wishes for a happy holiday break and the chance to reconnect with family and friends.
Regards
Garry

In English, 93.3% of students received A-C with 64.4% of these receiving and A or a B.
