Congratulations to our 2023 Graduating Class
It was wonderful to see the year 6 students shine before their families at the Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday. We are so proud of the way all of our students have maturely conducted themselves. During the celebration we were able to acknowledge all of our students talents and achievements. Good luck to our graduates, remember that you have been an important part of our Dayboro State School story.
Report Cards
Our Semester 2 reports were issued yesterday via QParents and email. Congratulations to our students on their learning! Our teachers have carefully moderated results to ensure consistency across the year level and beyond our school. A reminder that a ‘Working With’ in Prep, ‘Sound’ in Year 1-2 and C in Year 3-6 are all good results and mean that your child is meeting the achievement standard. If you have any questions about your child’s report results, please make a time to speak with the class teacher.
2024 Dayboro State School Classes
In 2024 we are currently modelling on 15 classes. Of course, this model may change if enrolment numbers fluctuate, so we will inform parents of classes by Thursday 18 January. Please ensure that your emails are correct so that you can receive your child’s class placement.
We will once again offer the classroom ‘Meet and Greet’ on Friday 19 January from 1:30-2:30pm, an opportunity for you and your child to meet the classroom teacher and drop off their book packs to their 2024 classroom.
A reminder that our first school day for 2024 is Monday 22 January.
2024 Staffing changes
I am excited to have my contract extended to remain at Dayboro State School into next year, while Mr Drummond continues his leave. I have appreciated the opportunity to lead this amazing school for the two and a half years.
Some slight staffing changes for 2024 include:
- At today’s final assembly, we will say good bye and good luck to Mr Matthew Horne. Matthew has been with us at Dayboro SS for 8 years teaching year 5. He has won a position at Dalby South State School. Good luck Matt!
- We will also farewell Chappy Rach and thank her for her 2 years of amazing Chaplaincy and support for all of our community. Thanks Chappy Rach and good luck in your new role as a teacher.
- We also thank Ms Ella Clyne for her work this term with 6F and 5H. Ella has stepped in when our teachers are on leave. Thank you for being part of our team Ella!
- Next year we will welcome new teacher Mr Thomas Makepeace. Thomas will be coming to us from Burpengary Meadows State School.
- Ms Kylie Mitrovski will continue in Semester 1 as Acting Business Manager.

Planning for 2024
If your child is leaving Dayboro State school in 2024, could you please let our admin officers know asap, admin@dayboross.eq.edu.au? Thank you.
It is not too late to enrol in Prep. Please contact our administration if you have a prep child to start in 2024.
Medication NEEDS collection
Can parents please collect any student medication that may be at the school office? We will ask all families to refill in the updated medical forms at the beginning of the 2024 year. Thank you for being diligent with this.
Happy Holidays!!!
Thank you to our amazing community for a wonderful year! What a pleasure it is to be here at Dayboro with a broad community to support us. A very special thank you to our vibrant and hardworking P&C, who have selflessly given of their time to support our students and families with special events and of course school resources.
It certainly takes a village and I would like to extend my appreciation to each one of our villagers. I see you looking out for each other’s children. I see you being so understanding when maybe a student is having some challenges, I see you cheerleading for ALL of our students when they do well, not just your own children.
We know that Dayboro is a special and unique place. Where else would you see students riding home from school on their horses?

I’m so proud of our students this semester. Good luck to all the students, and their families, who are leaving us….we hope that you take a little bit of Dayboro State School with you.
Have a wonderful and safe holiday!
