Principal's News
Dear Parents and Caregivers
It was a pleasure to be joined by Mrs Nikki Boyd MP, Assistant Minister for Local Government and Member for Pine Rivers as our school leaders were officially inducted into their respective roles yesterday.
Whilst visiting the school, Mrs Boyd also officiated at the opening of our new senior playground. This new playground was a commitment prior to the previous state election and is valued in excess of $100 000. Our senior students are very grateful for the new addition to our ever changing school landscape.
P&C AGM and General Meeting –Monday 14 March
The P&C Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 14 March at 6.30pm via Teams. This is a wonderful opportunity for our new families to become involved in our great school and be part of the decision making process. All are welcome to attend or to nominate for a position by contacting the secretary, Mia Gillies at secretary@dayboropandc.org.au
Facilities Update
I am pleased to advise that the accessibility ramps are progressing well with the majority of the major works now complete. The section to the oval is at the approval stage and we are hoping that will be starting by the end of this month. It is hoped that some sections will be open very soon.
The next major project will commence this week. The painters will commence the external preparation and painting of the school commencing with Blocks F and G ( Years 3-6). This will be focussed on preparation in the first instance with scaffolding not moving in until the holiday break. The new colours will be Colorbond Surf Mist and Deep Ocean ( White and Blue type colours) . This will give a long awaited facelift to our school.
Our new school sign has also been ordered and we expect installation before the end of the term.
Our school says 'Bullying. No Way!' on the National Day of Action
On Friday 18 March, our school will be taking a stand together on the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence.
The National Day is an annual event for Australian schools where school communities across the nation stand as one against bullying and violence.
Dayboro State School is dedicated to creating safe and supportive school environments, free from bullying, harassment and violence.
Together, we can send clear messages to young people that bullying and violence, in or outside the classroom, are not okay at any time.
Our School is planning an “Orange Day” on Friday 18 March. We are inviting all our students and school community to wear something Orange to signify the importance of this day.
