Principals News

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Welcome to Week 5 of Term 1.  It’s been an unusual start to the school year with this Friday representing the midpoint of the term.

To date we have had very little disruption to our classes with very low numbers of staff and students testing positive to COVID-19 or having to isolate. Consequently, our classrooms are settled and students are engaged and programs for the year are well underway.  Thank you to everyone in our community for keeping the school informed of absences so that we can respond accordingly.

Our Day 8 enrolment for 2022 is 357 students. Our enrolment is a little lower than this time in 2021 due to a smaller cohort of Prep students this year.  Once again however, we have maintained staffing levels and it has not been necessary to adjust any classes for the beginning of the school year.

The ‘Back to School’ Plan which is in place until Friday 4 March should be reviewed shortly and I will inform the community about the revised plan for our school when details are released.

In the meantime, thankyou to everyone for your continued support.

COVID-19 Reminder

With COVID-19 prevalent in the community, please monitor your family for symptoms. If a family member is feeling unwell, please take them to a Queensland Health testing clinic where students will be prioritised for a free rapid antigen test (RAT).

If you, your child or a household member tests positive to COVID-19, please follow Queensland Health guidelines for reporting the test result, isolation and close contacts.

If students develop symptoms while at school, you will be contacted and asked to collect them. You will be provided with a free rapid antigen test (RAT) to administer at home.

Welcome Alison Hibbard

I would like to welcome our new Tuckshop Convenor to our school.  Last Wednesday, Alison had her first tuckshop day with the school community. Many thanks to Alison for assuming the role and we look forward to her contribution for many years to come.
