PE News
Welcome back to a new year. It is a very busy start to the year in PE and District sports as usual.
Swimming Carnivals:
Due to the current health climate the Pine Rivers District Swimming Carnival has been cancelled. Students who made the times provided by the regional organisers will be nominated directly by schools to the Met North Regional Swimming Carnival. Those families have already been emailed and permission forms will be sent home.
Cross Country training:
Any students in Years 4 – 6, who are wishing to train for our School Cross Country Carnival and District Cross Country Trials, are invited to participate in a training program at school. Training will occur three days a week from 21/2/22 (week 5) until 18/3/22 (week 8) unless it is raining. The School Cross Country Carnival will be on Tuesday 22nd March 2022.
There will be no training the afternoon before the carnival. Students are not expected to attend every session.
Monday afternoon 3.10-3.40 with Mrs Marks
Wednesday morning 8:00 - 8:30am with Mr Horne
Friday morning 8:00-8:30 with Mr Reis
If you wish your child to attend the cross country training please either collect a permission form from the office or download the attachment from the newsletter and return as soon as possible.
District Sports Trials:
The Pine Rivers District run trials through year as a development pathway for students. If your child turns 10-12 this year and performs at a very high level in their chosen sport they may be eligible to trial. Attached is list of the current trial dates, although these dates are frequently subject to change. In the weeks prior to the trial, an Expression of Interest form will be on the sports noticeboard for students to write their names on. Parents can also contact me to express interest on cxmar5@eq.edu.au. It is the student’s responsibility to inform me of their interest.
For more information, and the trial dates, please read the attached letter ‘District Trial Information’.
