Swimming Carnivals
Junior
We are super excited about our carnival on Friday! A reminder that there will be no tuckshop at school on Friday, so please pack your children’s lunch to take to the pool. The Juniors will have a morning tea break at the pool and then will travel back to school before second break. On arrival at school (about 12:45pm), all the children will sit with their classes in the CSA to have their lunch. If parents are collecting children, this will be the place that teachers will be able to sign out. Teachers will not sign out children at the pool, their focus needs to be on supporting the children at the carnival and then packing up ready to transport the children to school.
Parents are welcome to support at the pool. Please see your child’s class teacher is you are available to support them walking to and from the pool.
Thank you for your understanding. We appreciate your support.
Senior Carnival
Of course, our senior swimming carnival will take place next Tuesday 23 November, starting at 9:00am. We aim to be finished by around 2:30pm. The carnival program is finalised, and sessions of novelty races have been included.
This year, the children have two options for arriving at the carnival. Parents, you may drop children at school early to walk down with school staff, or you may take your children directly to the pool to be handed over to staff at the gate. If you choose the second option, please don’t arrive until after 8:40am. These children will then be supervised in their house areas until the rest of the senior students arrive at the pool. Of course, if you are attending as a spectator or volunteer you may bring your children with you. Class rolls will be marked before events begin.
Thank you to those parents who have volunteered to help with timekeeping at the pool – you will be contacted this week to let you know which session you will be required.
Please remember the following for BOTH carnivals:
- Bring lunch, sunscreen, hats, plenty of water and sun safe swimming gear. There will be shade provided on the day.
- If you are walking to the pool in the morning, please wear your togs underneath your sports house uniform if possible. Closed in shoes must be worn for the walk. Be at school by no later than 8:30am for the senior carnival, 8:40am for the Junior.
- Senior students, if you are being dropped at the pool in the morning, but walking back to school in the afternoon – please make sure you have the appropriate uniform and closed in shoes to wear for this trip.
- The pool canteen will be open for lunch and refreshments.
From your friendly Sports Committee!

Planning for 2022
As we near the end of this year, we are eagerly planning for our end of year celebrations. Our calendar of events in this newsletter will help you to plan forward for these events!
We are also in full swing planning for 2022. We look like maintaining our enrolments at around 370 students, with 15 classes planned. Our teachers are working hard to plan for balanced classes where our students all have a friendship group. To assist us in our planning, we really need to ensure that we have accurate enrolment information.
Could you please let our admin officers know if your child is not
returning in 2022
Student Leadership Opportunities
We have been sharing with our Year 4 and 5 students our leadership opportunities for 2022. The P&C endorsed Leadership process is attached below. Next week we will listen to our prospective School Captains speeches and vote. We will also hold our elections for short listed Sports and Vice Captains. Our final panel interviews will take place in week 9. We will announce all of our 2022 leadership positions at our final assembly on Thursday 9 December. Good luck to all of our applicants!
Have a great week!
