Principal's News

A great start to Term 4!

Welcome back! It was wonderful to see the students return with great commitment to learning, reconnecting with their friends and our staff. This term promises to be an active and busy one with many events. Of course, our commitment to ensuring all students are progressing with their learning in a safe and supportive environment, remains our priority.

This term as we continue to focus on supporting and challenging each student to achieve their potential, our partnerships with parents continue to be so important. Thank you to those families who made time recently meet with your child’s teacher for a Parent/Teacher conferences. If you did not have a chance to meet, I would encourage you to make contact with your child’s teacher to understand their next steps for learning.

Facilities Progress

Over the holidays, it has been exciting to see the progress made with our current projects:

  • Our persons with disability walkway (PWD)
  • Installation of our new Prep shade sail

This adds to our 2021 improvements:

  • Installation of our footy goal posts
  • Replacement of the Prep cubby house
  • $40 000 Phone upgrade
  • Removal and replacement of our shade sails - Year 1 playground, hand ball court area
  • Replacement of the Prep fence on entry to Prep and removal of old garden beds

We are looking forward to our upcoming projects being completed this term:

  • Installation of our $150 000 Year 4-6 playground together with upgrades to our Year 2/3 playground
  • Upgrades for our school oval - Removing the current broken cricket pitch, installing new undersoil and turf, line marking a football field (Thank you to our P&C for their successful grant application!)

We are excited by these improvements and look forward to seeing these projects completed for our students to use!

Colour Run – This Friday!

What an exciting start to term 4 – our Colour Run. A huge thanks to our P&C for their huge efforts in organising this fun event for our community!

  • Students will need to bring a spare pair of clothes / towel. Students are welcome to bring a bandana to cover their mouth, goggles or sunglasses if required.

School Review in week 3, term 4

This term we will participate in the postponed four yearly School Review on 19-21 October. Thank you to parents who volunteered last term to speak with the reviewers in a parent group. Please let me know if you would like to join this small group to discuss Dayboro State School on Wednesday 20 October from 8:30-9:00am. The discussion will take place in our school hall. All parents are welcome to attend to discuss our school with the school reviewer.

Attached is the fact sheet to explain how positive a School Review can be for our community in providing us with affirmations about what we are doing well and recommendations for our strategic direction for the next four years. We look forward to the feedback!

Planning for 2022 –

In Term 4, we will be busy planning resources and staffing for the 2022 school year. We would appreciate you keeping in contact with the administration team about your child’s enrolment (if changing) for 2022.
