Dear Families and Friends
PARTNERSHIPS
Here at Dayboro we are fortunate to have built and sustained lasting and successful partnerships with a range of education providers. At this time of year, we start to look forward to a very important part of our role here at Dayboro and that is educating our students for all settings and preparing them for change. Not only do we start to think about welcoming and providing information to our future Prep students and families but we also begin to prepare our Yr. 6 students for the next phase of their education journey- the transition into high school.
Our Partnerships with both early educators and high schools are very important to us and we encourage their involvement and participation in our school as much as we can.
To help with the transition from Kindy to Prep we are planning to hold a PREP INFORMATION session NOW on Tuesday 31st August at 9:30 am where all parents enrolling their children in Prep in 2022 are welcome to attend and learn more about our school and our Prep rooms and teachers. We follow this information session up with a series of visits to Prep for these students in Term 4. These are our Orientation days and our Prep teachers look forward to meeting and getting to know our future Preps also.
In term 3 and 4, we also enjoy hosting visiting teachers from our local high schools to see how our students are progressing. We also communicate regularly with our local early childhood care providers and we have invited our early childcare teachers to come and visit our school to join us in workshops and to pass on information about our learning programs here at Dayboro. (Although this has not happened as much as we would like during the present situation!!!!)
Basically, we love getting to know our new students and we also love to
pass onto others how amazing Dayboro students are.
Of course, our most important partnership is with our families!
Even though schools look a bit different at the moment for parents visiting etc., we want you to know that we are still able to communicate through phone calls and emails. We are looking forward to having our parents, volunteers and visitors back on site soon.
IMPORTANT PBL NEWS!
Our Awards are: Be Kind, Be positive, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Proud and Be Tolerant. The Principal’s Award is also given out each week.
We did not have our usual awards in Week 4 and 5. But teachers will be on the look out for worthy recipients this week for next week, Week 6.
Every week we also have 4 students who receive GOTCHA awards. These students are spotted by other teachers in the playgrounds and classrooms and rewarded for doing the right thing with a GOTCHA award. They then go into the draw box where very week 4 students names are pulled out of the box. The winners receive a prize from the Prize Box and an ice block voucher.
We will draw the Gotchas in Week 6. week’s GOTCHA award winners.
