We are making steady progress on our displays for Book Week 2021. Thank you to all of the classes who have made time to help with our displays to celebrate “Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds”.
Book Week
Our annual Book Week celebrations are scheduled for 21st-27th of August.Students have already been working hard to help us prepare art works to display in the Library to promote this year’s theme, “Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds”.
We have planned some exciting activities to help us celebrate Book Week.Our Character Costume Parade will be held on 25th of August (week 7) from 9.00 on the oval.We cannot wait to see all of the awesome costumes!
Meerkat Productions will be visiting the school to perform a live-action retelling of two of the books that have been nominated to win prizes during Book Week.This year’s books are “Your Birthday was the Best” for lower school students and “Aster’s Good, Right Things” for upper school students.We hope everyone is able to join us for these events.
The cost to attend the performance on the 26th of August will be $8.80 each.Notes were sent home with students yesterday.
Premier’s Reading Challenge
We are down to the last five weeks of the Premier’s Reading Challenge for 2021. To complete the challenge students in Prep – Year 4 need to read 20 books, and students in Year 5 and Year 6 need to read 15 books. Reading record sheets are available from class teachers and from the Library.
