Helping Hands News
Dear Parents and Caregivers
Our children have developed co-ordination skills to perfect the fundamental movement skill of throwing and catching. This has been heavily practiced during a basketball game called Master. Children are regularly showing fair play and the ability to adjust the game to include younger children and challenge other children. This has been shown by extending or reducing the distance between the hoop and throw line. We recently received a variety of new blocks to acknowledge under 8’s Day on the 21st of May and these blocks have sparked creativity among children of varying ages in both morning and afternoon sessions.
Vacation care is 4 weeks away, so keep an eye out in your emails for a copy of the program and be sure to secure your bookings via the iParent Portal. It is essential that children are enrolled into the service before bookings can be made. Please visit the link below to enrol your child.
Lastly, MoovGames kicks off this week. The program includes organized games from our Moovosity software that our children have participated in for some time. Weeks 1,2 & 3 allow children to compete against themselves in individual and group games. The final week acts as a mini-Olympics with different activities to showcase what the children have learned/strengthened in the sessions. No prior skills are required, only enthusiasm to have a go and a willingness to improve. There are lanyards, stickers and certificates up for grabs to acknowledge the efforts throughout the program.
When is MoovGames? Tuesday and Thursday ASC 4pm-4:30pm, from week beginning 31/5/2021, to week ending 25/6/2021
What is the cost? No additional cost to parents, however children must be enrolled and booked in prior to attending.
How does my child sign up? Sign up is available at the service during sessions.
What does my child need to bring? Hat and re-fillable water bottle.
If your child/ren will be absent from a session, please ensure they are marked absent on the iparent portal. This is done under the bookings tab by selecting the date/session and clicking the red x on the right. Please see one of our educators for support if you are experiencing issues making or managing your bookings. Failure to notify us of absences in after school care means educators are having to search for children and a no show fee may be applied to your account. A reminder that bookings with less than 24hrs will need to be made via contacting the service on 0459 991 697.
Vacancies are available for both morning and afternoon sessions on selected days, and we welcome all children and families to the service. To enrol your child, please visit www.helpinghandsnetwork.com.au, selecting Dayboro as your service and following the prompts to access the iParent Portal. If you have any issues, please contact Jenny at the service on 0459 991 697 or our customer accounts on 1300 612 462.
