National Simultaneous Storytime

Tomorrow is National Simultaneous Storytime!  All students are welcome to join in with this event in the school hall from 11.00 a.m.   This year’s book, “Give Me Some Space”, will be read live by an astronaut on the International Space Station.

Book Worm Awards Term 1

Congratulations to our Book Worm award winners from Term 1.  The students who receive this award are recognised for their regular borrowing of books, caring for books while on loan, returning books quickly, and for their willingness to share their enjoyment of reading.

New Books

We would like to thank Ms Nikki Boyd’s (State Member for Pine Rivers) office for their recent donation which enabled us to purchase new books to add to our Library collection.  We were able to select a range of texts types to suit all reading abilities.  We also made sure to include books focussing on fishing and motorsports that had been requested by some of our older students.

Premier’s Reading Challenge

The Premier’s Reading Challenge for 2021 is underway.    To complete the challenge students in Prep – Year 4 need to read 20 books, and students in Year 5 and Year 6 need to read 15 books.  Reading record sheets are available from class teachers and from the Library.

May is National Family Reading Month

Is your family participating in the 31 Day Reading Challenge?  Visit the Scholastic website for more information and take up the challenge with your family.

Book Fair Wrap Up.

Book Fair 2021 wrapped up last Wednesday afternoon.  We would like to thank all of our families who came and visited our annual Book Fair, your support helped to raise $1500.00 for our school Library to purchase new reading materials for our students.

Students who placed orders for popular sold out items, rest assured that these books have been ordered and we expect them to arrive this week.
