Asking our students about their learning….
Teachers at Dayboro State School, have been working on targeting our teaching and providing feedback for our students. To understand what our students know about their learning ad how to be successful or what is their next step in learning, we use Lyn Sharratt’s (2019) 5 questions:
- What are you learning? Why?
- How are you doing?
- How do you know?
- How can you improve?
- Where do you go for help?
Our teachers have been asking student the 5 questions during their learning and when our leaders visit classrooms, this is a great way to see how our students ae understanding their role as a learner. It is wonderful to talk with the students when I visit classrooms. They are always excited to talk about their learning and their progress.
The students’ answers allow us to reflect on whether the students understand what will make them successful, require feedback, or need help to access the supports in the classroom. Teachers can then target their teaching and feedback. We love seeing students take charge of their learning!
Uniforms
As the weather gets cooler, it may be time to visit the uniform shop! Please remember that students need to wear a Dayboro SS jacket or navy jumper and trackpants to keep them warm. Girls may like to wear navy tights. Please discuss these expectations with your child. A reminder that our uniform policy outlines that their school shoes should be plain black and socks navy or white.
Thank you for your support!

Have a great week!
