Library and Maker Space News
New Books
Last week we took delivery of some very exciting new books for the Library collection. The purchase of these books was made possible thanks to the rewards we receive from Scholastic Book Club and Book Fair. Every purchase families make when purchasing books through Book Club and Book Fair contributes to a rewards program offered by Scholastic. The reward points can then be used to purchase books requested by the students to add to the Library.
This month we were able to purchase new releases in popular book series including “Dog Man”, “The Bad Guys” and “Weirdo”. We were also able to include some new books with unicorns and Minecraft that had been requested by the students. Thank you for your continued support.
Lego Robotics Club
Students in years 4, 5, and 6 have an opportunity to participate in a Lego Robotics Club on Tuesday at first break. Over the last week interested students have started building their first robot and will learn coding basics in the coming weeks.
We are working towards putting a small team together to participate in a local robotics tournament at the end of the term. It is not too late for students to join if they are interested, but students who come along are asked to make the commitment to come each week for the duration of the term.
Other Reminders:
