Deputy Principal's News
Dear Families and Friends
NAPLAN testing time again!
Our Year 3 and 5 students will soon participate in the annual National Assessment Program — Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) tests to assess their skills and understanding in the areas of reading, writing, language conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy.
The tests will be conducted in all state and non-state schools across the country from 11–19 May. This year all tests will be conducted online, except for the Yr.3 Writing test.
It is important that all students in these year levels arrive on time during this testing period as many sessions begin at 9am. We have Catch Up sessions planned every day for those students that are absent.
An individual NAPLAN report for each child will be sent home later this year. Results provide additional feedback for parents, carers and teachers on how students are progressing in key curriculum areas.
The best way you can help your child prepare for NAPLAN is to reassure your child that NAPLAN tests are just one part of their school program, and to urge them to simply do the best they can.
Further NAPLAN information for parents and carers is available online. Please contact the school if you have any questions about your child participating in NAPLAN testing.

IMPORTANT NEWS FOR KEEPING YOUR CHILD AND OTHER KIDS HEALTHY!
Thank you to our whole school community for supporting Photo Day last Friday. It was such a pleasure to see nearly 100% of our students in their formal uniform and Preps in their Prep shirts. Well done everyone!
Thank you also to Ms Marks for her excellent organization of some major sports events that were held in Week 1. Cross Country and Gala Day were both hugely successful and fun days. It is a huge task. It is pleasing to see our students do so well! Good luck to all our students competing at District Cross Country today.
Finally, a huge thank you to all the mothers, grandmothers and caregivers who love, support and work hard for their families every day. We hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day this Sunday surrounded by your loved ones.
Thank you from Mrs Ryan
