Welcome back for Term 2.
This term we have lots of activities and challenges which aim to encourage students to participate in regular reading. We hope that everyone takes up the challenge to join in with as many of these activities as they can.
Just a reminder that many students now have overdue books due to the lock down which occurred at the end of Term 1. Please return these overdue books as soon as possible.
Premier’s Reading Challenge
The 10th of May marks the beginning of the reading period for the 20201 Premier’s Reading Challenge. To complete the challenge students in Prep – Year 4 need to read 20 books, and students in Year 5 and Year 6 need to read 15 books.
Students will be given more information about participation in the Premier’s Reading Challenge during their Library time.
National Simultaneous Storytime
Students in all year levels are welcome to join in with the 21st annual National Simultaneous Storytime event on the 19th of May. This year’s book, “Give Me Some Space”, will be read live at 11.00 am by an astronaut on the International Space Station.
After listening to this year’s book , students are welcome to stay for the remainder of first break and join in with our celebration activities.
May is National Family Reading Month
This year is the 25th year of National Family Reading Month.

Book Fair
Book Fair is on the way!
Book Fair is set to begin on May 7th and will run until May 12th.
Keep an eye out for further information coming home after the school holidays. In the meantime families are more able to preview some of the exciting books that will be available at Book Fair.
