Principal's News

Welcome Back!

Its great to be back. It was wonderful seeing the students return yesterday with smiles on their faces as they reconnect with their friends and their teachers and other staff members.

We look forward to a productive term of learning. Our teachers worked hard during the lockdown planning the term 2 units and preparing engaging learning activities suited to the needs of their class. Over this first week, students will participate in some pre-assessments to ensure that teachers can target their teaching to the students’ needs.  Already it has been great to see our students engaged in their learning, being challenged and engaged in their learning.

Cross Country

Today it was wonderful for the students to finally be able to participate in the Cross-Country carnival. Congratulations to all of our students for their participation and to all students who placed in their age groups!

Thank you to Mrs Marks for all of her preparation, Mr Horne and Mr Reis for training students with Mrs Marks and to all of the staff and parents who assisted today.

The students really enjoyed their ice blocks from the P&C today. Thank you for the support!

ANZAC Day Services Term 2

This week, we will commemorate ANZAC Day at Dayboro State School with a formal service on Wednesday 21 April at 9:15am. We will welcome special guest Richard Hawkins from the War Memorial Society. All parents and carers are of course welcome to attend and we will consider our Covid requirements.

On ANZAC Day, Sunday 25 April, we will of course also participate in the community march and service. Please consider supporting our march. All students are welcome and should meet Mrs Ryan and myself, in full school formal uniform, on the footpath outside the Dayboro Hotel at 9:20am. Once we complete our march at the showgrounds, parents and carers will need to collect their children. The School Captains and the Choir will attend the 10am ceremony. The School Captains will lay a wreath on behalf of our Dayboro School community and our school choir will perform the Australian and New Zealand anthems and ‘The last Anzac’. We look forward to seeing you there to commemorate this very special occasion.
