Last Thursday we celebrated World Book Day.  Since we are unable to travel the world at the moment, we aimed to bring the world to our students by showcasing books in our display that told the story of people from different places around the world.  This year’s theme was “Share a Story” and we hope that everyone had a chance to share a story with someone special.

Maker Space

We have a team of ten Year 5 students attending a robotics day at Undurba State School on Thursday this week.  They will be learning how to code our new LEGO SPIKE Prime robots and have been busy building their robots in preparation for the day.  We can’t wait for them to come back to school to share their new knowledge with other keen robotic enthusiasts.

Makerspace has been jam packed with builders and inventors over the last few weeks.  The breadth of their inventiveness is amazing.  We would also like to say a very big “Thank you” to our STEAM Team students (Year 6 students who volunteer their time to help in the Makers Space during first break).  Their help over the last couple of weeks, especially with some of the robotics challenges, has been invaluable! 

We are currently in need of cardboard boxes for the maker space.  The boxes we are searching for need to be made from a cardboard thin enough for students to be able to cut – cereal boxes, muesli bar boxes, toothpaste tube boxes, etc are ideal.  All donations are happily accepted.  Please be aware that we are unable to accept donations of egg cartons due to egg allergies.
