Welcome back everyone to the 2021 school year at Dayboro State School!

As Head of Department (Curriculum) at Dayboro State School, my role focuses on supporting teachers with planning, teaching, assessing, resourcing and professional development so that as a team we can ensure that all students are successful learners and happy, creative and responsible individuals.

In 2021 our School Improvement Agenda is focused on Writing. Teachers will be embedding the Gradual Release of Responsibility Model for the teaching of Writing and focussing on targeted and specific feedback to students on their writing.

My role also includes managing the Intervention and Extension programs across our school, from intensive small group teaching (Tier 3 students) to organising Opti-MINDS and Extension Days at local high schools.

I am also part of a team that meets weekly to discuss student support needs across the school and plan strategies to address these needs. This team includes the Deputy Principal, the Guidance Officer and our Inclusive Education teachers.
