In some of my health lessons I have talked about various opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get out and about and be active, including the Moreton Bay Healthy and Active Program.

After one student asked me to write it down for her so she could show her parents I thought that maybe I should share it with you all. Moreton Bay run a huge variety of physical activities for younger children, teenagers, adults and families which are free or low cost. Such activities include but are in no way limited to rock climbing, abseiling, parkour, trampolining, archery, yoga, pilates, dance, orienteering, skateboard and scooter clinics, mountain biking, high ropes courses, commando courses, croquet, kayaking, windsurfing and building catapults.

My family (consisting of myself, my husband and two boys now in high school) have participated in a range of these activities over the years and continue to do so. Sometimes it has led one or more of us to participate in an activity regularly, other times it's just a once-off for fun or family time.

If you haven't heard of the program before and are interested I would highly recommend going online to the link below for Healthy and Active Moreton, Moreton Bay Regional Council and checking it out.
