Dayboro Explicit Improvement Agenda for 2021
Our wonderful staff, participating in professional learning on the Student Free days, collaborated to review our Dayboro SS performance data celebrating our successes ad planning on what is possible. From this professional collaboration, we have drafted our Explicit Improvement agenda for 2021: Lifting student achievement and engagement through targeted teaching and feedback. As a staff, we are now working on our Annual Implementation Plan to outline our goals as identified through key focus areas in our school’s strategic plan, and also plan for the resources we will need to achieve these goals.
One of our focus areas is lifting achievement in writing. Our students have been engaged in pre-assessments of the writing task for Term 1. As teachers moderate these samples, they are able identify what the students are doing well and already know and what are their next steps, what do they still need to learn. Through careful planning and then targeted teaching, the students will work on their next steps, receiving feedback along the way. We look forward to some amazing writing!

Parent Information Sessions
Well we have had a great start to our Parent Information Sessions! Please remember that we encourage only adult attendance where possible. These Parent Information Sessions will be held in each teacher’s classroom. You do not need to RSVP. We look forward to seeing you.
Facilities
Last week we met with the Project Officer for the building of the PWD (pathway to allow full access to our Library and classrooms for people with disability). This work will commence as soon as the tender process is completed and we look forward to project completing by June 30. We look forward to the added inclusion of all of our community that this pathway will provide.
P&C
It was great to work with our P&C members last night during our Teams meeting. The P&C were able to endorse the term one variations to school routine, our upcoming work to build our pathway allowing for people with disability access, and also discussed ways to contribute to our school programs. Please see the P&C report below.
Student Safety
Just a reminder regarding student safety, especially on pick up. We all have a role to play to ensure that our students get home safely. Please be patient and ensure that you are thinking carefully about driving conservatively around the school. If you need your child to cross the road, please ensure that you are encouraging them to walk across the crossing to keep them safe. Thank you!
Online Services Consent Form
Thank you for continuing to send the updated Dayboro SS Online Service Consent Form to provide permissions for your child/ren to participate in the online learning. Please to complete the attached form and send it back electronically to admin@dayboross.eq.edu.au. Alternatively, we can provide you with a hard copy. Teachers will also have hard copies available at the Parent Teacher conferences.
Have a great week!
