Last week’s challenge in maker space was a bridge building competition.  The challenge was to build a bridge supporting as many teddy counters as possible using only 4 paper cups and unlimited paddle pop sticks.  A wide range of designs were developed, and Poppy and Heidi in year 6 took the prize with 112 teddy counters balanced on their bridge.

The Hama beads Christmas decoration table continues to be a very busy place – we have been very impressed with the intricate designs being pieced together by the students.  The board games have peaked in popularity again and it is great to see so many children playing these games cooperatively.

Summer Reading Club

The State Library of Queensland is once again hosting their Summer Reading Club over the holiday break.  Their free, fun reading program is being hosted on-line for the first time.  More information can be found at the Summer Reading Club website:

Students who would like to have a printed copy of the reading challenges are welcome to collect one for the holiday break – we would love to reward children with completed reading challenge cards when school resumes in 2021.

End of Year Book Returns

A reminder that any Library loans are now overdue and need to be returned as soon as possible.  Checking obvious locations often yields the best results – toy boxes, book shelves at home and at school, school bags, in the car etc.
