Library and Maker Space News
This week students have been making use of Sphero robots in maker space. Once students mastered the ability to operate their robots they were encouraged to undertake one of the challenges. One task was to work as a team while operating their robots to play a game of soccer, but the most popular task was to operate a robot in the “Sphero skate park”. We think it may be a fun idea to design skate park elements for our Spheros using 3D design software and then print these out for our robots to use. Watch this space…
Craft activities were also a popular activity this week. It was fantastic to see so many our older students, including our STEAM Team members, helping younger students to design and construct their own pom pom popper.
Students in 4/5H have been working on a Lego robotics coding challenge in their Digital Technologies lessons and have been making use of every available lunch time to optimise their robot design and their coding. The class competition is scheduled for Wednesday – we can’t wait to see who wins!
