Classroom News 2M
Last week on parade, 2M performed ‘Don’t Give Up’, a song by Bruno Mars and Sesame Street.
We have been practising this song all year to remind ourselves that we should never give up even when things get hard. We should keep on trying and learn from our mistakes and don’t stop just because things are tricky.
When we were deciding as a class to sing this song on parade, we had a lot of nervous kids who didn’t want to do it. So the discussion about learning outside of our comfort zones came up. We learnt that our comfort zone is the place in our lives where everything we do is easy and comfortable and not much of a challenge. If we want to challenge ourselves and learn new things we need to get outside of our comfort zones and try to do the things that are tricky or not easy to do the first time. When we do this, we learn more and our comfort zones grow bigger.
We ALL got up on stage and had a go and didn’t let the nerves stop us from getting out of our comfort zones. We are very proud of ourselves and now we know we can do it. Next term, we may sing another song on parade.
