Year 1 students learnt about “changes around me” and made a sundial.
Year 2 students learnt about “water works”, watched a world’s water demonstration and made a water filter to filter dirty water.
Year 3 students learnt about “hot stuff”, watched a wine to water demonstration and made a lava lamp.
Year 4 students learnt about “material use” and watched a density column be made and discovered the non-newtonian properties of cornflour slime.
Year 5 students learnt about “matter”, performed a states of matter dance and made a volcano in a vial.
Year 6 students learnt about “weather detectives”, watched a cloud-in-a-box demonstration and made their own barometer.
Thank you so much to PRSHS teachers Ms Brennan, Ms Berry and Ms Campbell, and their Science Technicians, Ms Ebert and Ms Harvey, for the huge organisation involved in preparing for and running the activities on the day. Dayboro State School students had a fabulous time and really enjoyed all the activities.
