Helping Hands News

Our children enthusiastically participated in science experiments over the week with each of our educators. It was exciting to see children collaborate, inquire, hypothosise and experiment as a cohort; with children teaching each other what science was involved – experiments included balloon rocket, balloon experiment and colour changing milk.

We have also seen the return of children taking on leadership roles to run group games under educator supervision. These activities foster leadership among children and create space for children to engage positively together. Recently children have led games of Rob the Nest and Night at the Museum. Other games children have engaged in include Racing Rhinos, Toilet Tag, Dance Mirror, Dance Charades and Dodgeball. Educators have joined in these games, much to the children’s enthusiasm.

Vacation care bookings are open and we are busy preparing to ensure each day is filled with engaging activities of a variety of interest. Theme days include Tennis Fever, Superheroes Unite and Challenge the Educators. Please see the bottom of this segment for how to enrol your child/ren as this must be done prior to bookings/attending.

With winter here, please ensure children have a jumper and a drink bottle each session. Naming these items also helps to return items to the right person.

If your child/ren will be absent from a session, please ensure they are marked absent on the iparent portal. This is done under the bookings tab by selecting the date/session and clicking the red x on the right. Please see one of our educators for support if you are experiencing issues making or managing your bookings. Please also ensure you are able access your iparent portal – this is where you make and amend your bookings and receive notifications, messages and newsletters from us in addition to this fortnightly segment.

Vacancies are available for both morning and afternoon sessions on selected days, and we welcome all children and families to the service. To enrol your child, please visit www.helpinghandsnetwork.com.au, selecting Dayboro as your service and following the prompts to access the iParent Portal. If you have any issues, please contact Jenny at the service on 0459 991 697 or our customer accounts on 1300 612 462.
