Dear Parents and Caregivers
School Opinion Survey has changed for 2020
Traditionally the School Opinion Survey has occurred during term 3 for students, staff and parents. For 2020 only, the SOS will be replaced with a shorter online pulse survey that will take place over the next few weeks. The pulse survey will provide an opportunity for reflection on schools’ and the department’s response to COVID-19 and an opportunity for us to reflect and provide feedback to the system to inform future policy.
Again there will be three surveys- staff, students and parents – each of which will have its own individual link. All responses, as usual, are confidential. The survey has been designed for easy completion on a smartphone and can be completed in less than 5 minutes.
The link for completing our Parent Opinion Survey is below:-
I would like to thank everyone in advance for completing the school survey. The school will receive a report later in the school year which will influence our future planning. The survey is open until Friday 17 July.
Arriving to School Early
Could I please remind parents and caregivers that the optimum time for student arrival at school is between 8.15am and 8.30am. Some students are arriving very early to school with limited resources for supervision. Our OHSC Provider, Helping Hands, is available to families who wish to take advantage of before and after school programs.
Rock Your Crazy Socks Day – This Friday
Our Student Council is holding a “Rock Your Crazy Socks” Day this Friday 19 June. We are inviting everyone to join in the fun by wearing your craziest, zaniest socks to school for the day! A gold coin donation will go towards Student Council fundraising for this year.
School Annual Report – 2019
The School Annual Report has been uploaded to our school website. Please go to www.dayboross.eq.edu.au and look for the link on the homepage.
Prep Enrolments -2021
We are already receiving enquiries about our Prep program for 2021. We are pleased to provide information and enrolment information anytime at our school office. However, I am able to advise that our Prep Information and Enrolment Morning will be held on Wednesday 19 August at 9.30am in our School Hall. This will be followed up with Prep interviews for all newly enrolled students from 19-23 October and a Prep Orientation Day on Tuesday 10 November.
If you have a child born between 1 July 2015 – 30 June 2016, he/she is eligible for Prep enrolment at Dayboro State School in 2021. Please note that Dayboro State School has an Enrolment Management Plan in place – please check at http://education.qld.gov.au/schools/catchment/ for further information.
We have had several enquiries regarding enrolling at Dayboro Prep from outside the catchment area. Families who view Dayboro as their school of choice are very welcome to submit an enrolment application, however the outcome of the application will not be advised until late October when available places are allocated in the order of receipt.
I would be pleased if this information could be circulated to people who are known to you and are wishing to enrol in our Prep program in 2021.
