Maker Space

We have been working on a variety of tasks during the last fortnight.  Several children are working on their own 3D designs using the computer design software.  We are hoping that they will be finished in time to print before the Easter break.  We have also had a variety of weaving activities available including woven spider webs for younger children, creating woven animals and using basic weaving looms for older students.  Completing weaving tasks does take time and a little concentration but the results are well worth it. 

Construction activities have been self-directed this week.  We have had some imaginative creations including a Lego houseboat specifically designed for cats (of course!) and some rather inventive construction using the Joinks kit, which has been literally suction cupped to the bookcases.  It is fantastic to see so many creative students making use of the maker space.

Borrowing

It has been wonderful to see so many students popping in to exchange books during lunch breaks.  Remember that loans can be extended when requested to give students more time to finish off the book/s they are reading. 

Keep an eye on the display bench for new titles that are being added to our collection.  This week we have a selection of books that we were able to purchase from Book Club using rewards from the final Book Club order of 2019.

Book Club

Term 1 Book Club

The first Book Club brochures for this year were sent home with students last week.  All book club orders help to raise money for the school Library to purchase books and resources suggested by students.  Book Club orders can be placed on-line using LOOP (preferred) or orders with payment can be dropped off at the office.  Book Club orders close on March 18^th.
