Dear Families and Friends

Student Leaders - National Young Leader’s Day

Last Friday Ms Foord and I took the Student Leaders from Year 6 to the National Young Leader’s Day at the Convention Centre. I would like to commend our leaders on their exemplary behaviour and the way they represented Dayboro at this event. Thank you also to Ms Foord for organising the day. The guest speakers on the day were from a range of backgrounds and are leaders in Sport (Cate Campbell) , Literature (Matt Cosgrove) and the Community (Tim Diamond - Chairman of Cotton On Foundation) and all had faced varying challenges in their lives. Matt Cosgrove, Author and Illustrator of books such as Epic Fail Tales and Alpacas with Maracas spoke to future leaders from more than 100 schools about the 5 P’s.

  1. Perception is everything- find the Positive
  2. Passion- find your passion and practice it!
  3. People are important – surround yourselves with the right people who inspire and challenge you to do your best.
  4. Persistence- Never give up.
  5. The Power of Imagination- “Dare to dream and anything is possible”

I hope all our leaders were inspired and encouraged to lead with passion and persistence!
