Dear Families and Friends
Representing your school with pride
Over this term we have had lots of occasions when children have been outside of our school participating in events such as District Sports, STEAM Visits to PRHS, Swimming Lessons, Student Leader events and coming up soon… Gala Day for Years 5 and 6.
Whenever we go to sporting events, instrumental/choir performances or are just out and about in the community, our students are expected to represent their school with pride. This is an important part of being RESPECTFUL. This expectation can be shown in many different ways, from wearing the correct uniform to being considerate of others in the community. The feeling we get when someone outside of our school says, “Wow! Those Dayboro kids are really well-mannered” or “I am really impressed with their behaviour”, is really encouraging and something to be celebrated.
A few ways you can encourage your child to represent their school with pride is:
- ensuring they are wearing the correct uniform and it’s neat and tidy;
- discussing behaviours that are appropriate when out in the community;
- role-playing scenarios of interactions with others; and
- talking positively with your child about their school experiences and encouraging them to talk and think positively about their school.
Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of your children and equip them with the skills to BE RESPONSIBLE, RESPECTFUL, POSITIVE, PROUD AND TOLERANT citizens.
Please remember that children are expected to wait in the CSA before School between 8:15am until the bell goes at 8:40am. The children are supervised during this time. There should not be children playing on equipment or waiting outside classrooms before this time.
Parents are reminded that dropping and picking up children in the bus zone is not permitted. That area is extremely busy and congested with buses coming and going and it is an important safety issue. We do not want any of our children getting hurt. Thank you for keeping our children safe.
OUR PT CLUB
Every morning before school we have a small, enthusiastic group of Year 1, 2 and 3 children who are working hard on their Gross Motor Skills like jumping, skipping, throwing and balancing. These children have been invited to join the group. They meet at 8:30 every morning under B Block and train until 9am. They are thoroughly enjoying these activities and are enthusiastically embracing every challenge. Well done PT club and thank you to Mrs Robinson and Mrs Smith for getting it all organised.
Swimming has started this term for Yr. 3 and 4 students at the Dayboro pool. Classes 3P, 3M, 4B, 4/5H (Yr 4’s only) and 4R will be swimming from Week 4 until Week 8. The children have got off to a great start. Thank you parents for supporting this program and for making prompt payments and returning permission slips on time.
