Library & Maker Space
Maker Space
Maker space has been consistently very busy and it has been wonderful to see students setting their own tasks and designing their own activities in addition to the suggestions we have available each week. We have been very impressed with the level of responsibility shown by students who are taking great care to clean up the materials they are using in the maker space – keep it up!
Sphero robots and Dash robots have been available during first breaks and have been a popular choice with the students. Keep an eye out for some coding challenges being set for these robots.

Borrowing Reminder
All students need a library bag when borrowing. Library bags can be as simple as reusing a plastic bag or reusable shopping bag. To help reduce the number of water damaged books being returned to the library we would also like to remind students to ensure the lids of water bottles are properly secured when they are being carried in school bags with library books.
Please remember that books can be exchanged during breaks as well as during scheduled class visits. Our goal is to help all students find a book about a subject of their choice that that suits their reading ability using the ‘just right’ strategy shown in the picture above.
We have created a suggestion box for students where they can request activities in the Library and makerspace as well as suggest book titles to add to the school’s Library collection. We look forward to receiving some amazing ideas.
Thank you,
Mrs Wilkinson and Mrs H.
