Money_Box_Pig.jpg

Welcome back to all of our existing families and a warm welcome to our new ones. It has been wonderful to see our students back at school with bright big smiles, eager to learn. For new families to us, in my section of the newsletter you will find out about all things finance related.

Term 1 Invoices

Students have been invoiced for the following activities:

Letters have now been sent home to families. If you require a payment plan for any of the above, please don’t hesitate to contact the school.

Payment: Plans & How to Pay

Payment plans are available for all families, whether you are experiencing financial difficulties or you would prefer to pay for excursions / camps in a lengthy timeframe. Payments must be made regularly, and must be completed by 27th November 2020. This is to ensure all of our excursions are reconciled and meet financial deadlines.

There are several ways to pay for excursions and school activities at Dayboro State School:

  • Online payments - BPOINT

By clicking on the BPOINT link on your invoice, it will take you directly to the website to pay.

  • Paying by phone.

If you do not wish to process payments online, you are able to pay by phone using a credit/debit card via BPOINT 1300 631 073.

Please quote the CRN and invoice number located at the bottom of the invoice. .

  • Paying in person.

You can pay in person at the Dayboro State School Administration using EFTPOS, Visa, MasterCard or cash.

Paying with Cash

Dayboro State School is progressing towards becoming a cashless school, which means paying for excursions by cash is no longer our preferred method of payment.

If students are taking the money to school, they will be required to come to the office before school or at lunch times for payments. Ideally, students making payments should be paid to the office before school, between 8am and 8:40am.

At no time should a student give any money to classroom teachers for excursions, teachers will redirect students to the office to pay for invoices. Students/parents will be provided with a receipt at the time of payment.

Please note – this does not include the Tuckshop or Uniform Shop. As they are run by the P&C, the school cannot accept payments for these two areas. Please contact the P&C directly for questions regarding payment options.

Volunteering in Classrooms

New legislation is coming into place in 2020 surrounding volunteering and Blue Cards. Blue Card Services require parents to hold a ‘V’ Blue Card when volunteering in a class that their child is not enrolled in (i.e. your child is in a Prep class but you are volunteering in a Year 1 class). Grandparents who are volunteering require a ‘V’ Blue Card, regardless of the class volunteering in.

Currently, it is free of charge to gain a Volunteer ‘V’ Blue Card. Copies of the form can be obtained from the office, please don’t hesitate to contact the school for more information.

Facilities Hire

As Dayboro State School has a strong association with the local community, we allow community groups to hire certain areas of the school. Our facilities such as the Hall, Under Covered Area (CSA), Oval and Tennis Court are available to hire at a set cost.

All Facilities Hire arrangements need to be discussed with the Business Manager and are approved by the Principal. All fees go directly into the school, whether that be maintaining our grounds and facilities, or providing additional resources for our students.

For more information on our Facilities Hire, please contact the school office.

Voluntary Contributions

By participating in the Voluntary Financial Contribution Scheme, Dayboro SS is able to provide classroom resources, home readers and other consumables to enhance learning activities for Literary, Numeracy, Science, Art and Technology.

The costs involved in the Voluntary Financial Contributions are:

  • $50 per student; or
  • $100 per family of two or more enrolled students.

Proceeds raised through the Voluntary Financial Contribution Scheme will benefit all students, so we encourage parents to participate in the scheme.

The Voluntary Financial Contribution Scheme is approved by the P&C each year, and is aligned to the Department of Education policy requirements.
