YEAR 5 CARNAVAL

The year 5 classes have been learning about French Carnaval characters including Colombine, Arlequin, Polichinelle and Pierrot. They chose a character, described the character’s personality and made a mask following those traits. To celebrate, they presented their descriptions and masks in a parade.

The year 6 classes have read several cartoons about Petit Pierre et ses Bonbons Magiques, a boy who eats magic lollies and develops super powers. In groups, the students wrote their own versions of Petit Pierre and presented them to the class.

I was most impressed with their enthusiasm, use of French and encouragement of each other. Bien fait!
