Principal's News

Dear Parents and Caregivers

We would like to thank all our volunteers that have done wonderful work in our school, whether it be helping in our classrooms, our Tuckshop, at P&C events or school fundraisers. We have a vast number of volunteers who have helped out in a myriad of ways. Our volunteers do a magnificent job in our school and we take the opportunity to recognise the work they do and offer our most sincere and grateful thanks. Our P&C is acknowledging the wonderful contribution to our school by holding a Special Morning Tea event in our school hall this Friday at 9.30am.

Air Conditioning Announcement

I am very pleased to announce that Dayboro State School has benefitted as part of the roll out of air conditioning to Queensland State Schools.  We are very grateful for the advocacy of our State Member for Pine Rivers, Ms Nikki Boyd in ensuring that Dayboro State School received funding to air condition the last remaining classrooms, these being in B Block  (currently SEP and Learning Support). It is anticipated that the work will be completed in the near future.

We are very fortunate, that once work is completed, to have all learning spaces air conditioned in our school. This has taken many years of work by our P&C through fundraising and the submission of community grants.

Ice Cream Day – Next Tuesday

Our final Student Council activity for the year is an Ice Cream Day next Tuesday 3 December. Our local emergency services personnel will be here to serve up ice cream in exchange for a gold coin donation which will go towards Student Council fundraising activities. Gluten free and non-milk options will be available.

Final Assembly Time

Our final assembly for the term will be held on Thursday 12 December commencing at 12.00pm. At this time, our new school leaders will be announced to the school community. Everyone is welcome to attend. Assemblies will continue each Monday until the end of the school year.

Classes for 2020

Classes for next year are being developed and will be available on Thursday 23 January from 8.30am outside the School Administration. All classes are DRAFT until the Day 8 School Staffing Census and are subject to change.

On the same morning between 9:00-10:00am, teachers will be in their classrooms and the opportunity is available for parents and students to meet teachers and drop off book packs.  This will be the only time available as teachers will be involved in a Student Free Day program at all other times.
