Principal's News
Dear Parents and Caregivers
This week represents the half way point of the term and five weeks remaining of the school year. On assembly yesterday students were reminded about the need to remain focussed and committed to the school rules of Safety, Respect and Learning as we enter a very busy time of the school year. At Dayboro, our objective is for every student to fulfil the school year in a positive way, even though the ensuing heat and tiredness can bring challenges to some. Parents can assist us by reinforcing with every student that a conscientious effort in school work and behaviour is necessary until the very last day of school. Let’s remain proactive as a school community and enjoy the final few weeks of another great year at Dayboro.
Our Year 6 students departed on their four day camp to Luther Heights at Coolum this morning. We wish them well as they explore the wide range of leadership activities and physical pursuits.
Remembrance Day
Yesterday, our School Captains represented our school admirably at the Remembrance Day Service in Roderick Cruice Park. Our students were fully involved in the ceremony, by reading a prepared script which time lined the various wars. The School Captains joined other community organisations by laying a wreath on behalf of the school community at the base of the epitaph.

School Attendance
An attendance target of 95% has been set for schools in the North Coast Education Region. As a school we have achieved a rate of attendance of 92.5 % to date for Term 4. There has been a substantial improvement in students arriving for school on time, which I am hopeful will continue. Attendance rates for individual classes are listed below. At Dayboro, ‘every day counts’ and regular, whole day, on time attendance is strongly encouraged.

To report an absence form school please call 3425 6160 and leave a detailed message, including the reason for the absence. Absence notifications can also be forwarded to the school via QParents.

The process will take place throughout the term and will culminate with the announcement of the new leaders at the final school assembly on Thursday 12 December. School Leaders for 2020 will be inducted at a special ceremony by the State Member for Pine Rivers in February 2020.
