Library and Maker Space News
Maker Space
International Games Week.
This week is International Games Week and we have a range of activities and challenges available for students throughout the week. As well as developing social skills and communication strategies, board games benefit students through extending their understanding of the importance of rules, taking turns and problem solving skills.
Students can construct a Lego Ball Game or code a computer game using Scratch Junior. We have a wide variety of board games and card games to play in the Library – as a special challenge students can play Snakes and Ladders using the Bee Bots as their playing pieces. Older students have the opportunity to create their own board game – including designing and printing their own playing pieces for their game using the 3D printers.
New Books
We have a wide selection of brand new books on display in the Library this week. These books have been purchased from Scholastic using the rewards points that were made available following the Book Club orders from Term 3. We are very grateful for the families who purchase books through Book Club, which in turn allows us to add books to our Library collection that are requested by our students.
All of these books have been written by authors that are popular with our students, many of the titles are part of an established series that we have available for students in our Library.
Thank you,
Mrs Wilkinson and Mrs H.
