Helping Hands

What’s happening at before and after school care 15 02 2019

Ph 0459 991 697

This week, we have been focusing on embedding multi-culturalism into our service through wet chalk drawing Indigenous symbols with Miss Katie and dot painting our handprints with Miss Mele. Some of our children also turned their footprints into some great art pieces including dolphins, dogs, birds and even a cactus!! Our prep children have been showing great co-ordination skills by skipping with the hula hoops, and children across various ages participated in a target game run by our sports co-ordinator Sophie.R and prep buddy Grace G. Our outdoor play has been restricted this week due to the heat, but it didn’t stop our creative skills with some of our children turning paper chatterboxes into puppets using googly eyes, feathers and other crafty materials they could find. We’ve also received some awesome ideas for the coming weeks through our children’s meetings, including handprint transformations, learning Japanese, touch football, oz tag and musical chairs. One of the biggest highlights of the week was seeing our prep buddies enjoying some time with the preppies, as well as the children getting into the spirit of Valentine’s Day by writing a kind message about someone else at the service.

Our afternoons have been filling up very fast and we currently have a waiting list for some afternoons. We still have a handful of spaces every morning, so if you are interested in booking your child/ren in please see below on how to do this to secure your spot.

If your child/ren are going to be absent for a session, they can be marked absent on the iParent Portal by clicking the day and session you would like to mark absent and clicking the red x on the right-hand side. The service will receive a notification when this occurs. Please note, our service has a 48hr cancellation policy to avoid being charged for the session. If you need to change your bookings, this can also be done on the iParent Portal. One of our friendly team will be happy to assist you if there are any issues with this process.

Homework club is now back and running from 4:30-5:00pm Monday-Thursdays. Please let one of our friendly team know if you would like your child to be included in this.

We welcome all new families to the service, Helping Hands Dayboro requires online enrolment forms to be completed before attending the service. Online bookings and enrolments can be made through the iParent Portal which can be access through the Helping Hands Network site by selecting Dayboro as your service and signing up following the prompts. If you have any issues, please contact Jenny at the service on 0459 991 697 or our customer accounts on 1300 612 462
