Book Week Thanks
We would like to thank everyone for coming together and celebrating Book Week in such an awesome way! The variety of costumes at the parade was amazing – we loved the variety and level of attention to detail!
The students all participated enthusistically in the activities that we had available in the Library. We particularly loved hearing the variety of original musical compositions performed by students for “The Singing Seal”. We would also like to congratulate the effort put in by older students to assist younger students with some of the activities, we really appreciated your help with this.
Book Club
Book Club brochures were sent home with students a little over a week ago. To ensure books are delivered to students before the holidays all orders need to be sent to school or made on-line through LOOP by this Friday the 30th of August.
In this issue there are plenty of new release titles that will no doubt prove popular with students including a new “Macca the Alpaca”, “Dog Man” and “117-Story Treehouse”. With books starting at just $3, there really is something for everyone.
Thanks again to Cara, our wonderful Book Club coordinator, for making Book Club possible.
Premier’s Reading Challenge House Cup
Our school Sports House captain and vice captains have been very busy over the last few months collecting the reading tally for the number of books read across the school as part of our Premier’s Reading Challenge House Cup competition. Now that the reading period for the Premier’s Reading Challenge has finished, we are very happy to announce that the house with the most books read this year was ARMSTRONG!
Armstrong house has lead the reading challenge for most of the competition and completed the challenge with a total of 3663 books read. The final number of books read across the school for this year is 9681. What an amazing effort everyone!
Remember to hand your reading tally sheets to your teacher before Friday so that they can ensure your reading total is updated on the Premier’s Reading Challenge website. All eligible students will receive a certificate of participation later in the year.
Thank you,
Mrs Wilkinson and Mrs H.
