SUPPORT STAFF WEEK

Last week we acknowledged all the wonderful work all our Support Staff do for our school.  This week we continue to celebrate and recognise the important work of our support staff and in particular we acknowledge our hard working and dedicated teacher aides in our school. So we say a BIG thank you to our teacher aides who go above and beyond to support the staff and students at Dayboro.

WRITING AT DAYBORO.

At Dayboro we value creative, authentic and engaging writing for a purpose. Our goal for 2019 has been to lift the engagement of our students in writing in all its’ forms and to celebrate successes in writing. Our teachers work hard to embed the teaching of high quality writing practices in their classrooms. Teachers meet regularly to discuss and share writing samples of students and it is pleasing to see our students working so diligently on their writing goals and becoming better writers! You can also help at home by trying a few of the suggestions below:

1. Provide a place for your child to write. ...
2. Read, read, read! ...
3. Encourage your child to keep a reflective journal. ...
4. Provide authentic writing opportunities for your child. ...
5. Be a writing role model. ...
6. Start a vocabulary notebook. ...
7. Ask questions. ...
8. Help your child publish his/ her writing.

Parent Teacher interviews notes will be going home this week. Please look out for them. They will begin next week and continue until the end of this term. Please make a time to visit with your child’s class teacher as it is an excellent opportunity to check in on your child’s progress in all areas.

SPRING SOIREE- DATE CLAIMER

9^th September- 3:30-5pm.

All Choir and Instrumental Band Students will be performing. All parents welcome to attend.
