Library and Maker Space News
Book Week
It is Book Week! We have a busy week ahead in the Library and we would love to see as many students as possible joining in with the celebrations and coming along to see the amazing displays of artwork created by our students.
We have a range of activities for students to be involved with in the Library celebrating some of the books that have been nominated for prizes this year. These activities will run during breaks and during class visits to the Library this week.
The Book Week Character Costume Parade will be held on Wednesday the 21st of August on the school oval from 9.00 a.m. Helping Hands, our outside school hours care provider, has very generously donated the prizes that will be presented during the costume parade. Thank you so much!
Meerkat Productions will be visiting the school on Thursday August 22nd to present a live performance of two of the books that were included in the CBCA Notables list for this year. All payments to attend this performance are due on the 21st of August.
Book Week Award Winners
Congratulations to all the authors and illustrators who were announced as winners of their categories by Children’s Book Council of Australia last week.
Premier’s Reading Challenge
The 2019 Premier’s Reading Challenge reading period ends this coming Friday the 23rd of August. Remember to submit your list of the books you have read to your teacher as soon as possible to ensure you don’t miss out on your participation certificate from the Premier’s office later in the year.
Thank you
Mrs Wilkinson and Mrs H.
