Walkathon prize announcements and prize draws
It was a real pleasure to attend Assembly on Monday (19 August) to announce the winners and to the draws for this year’s Walkathon fundraising event. On behalf of P&C and the School, I would like to thank all students and families who got behind this fundraising event. All monies raised of course go towards funding resources and activities for our School and its Students, and this year’s Walkathon has raised just over $4600.00.
Apart from monies raised by Students, I would also like to sincerely thank our local Dayboro Valley IGA store who not only provided many hundreds of ice blocks to our students on the day of Walkathon, but also for their generous donation of $500.00 towards this event! Because of their involvement and support for Walkathon, we also invited our IGA to decide on the Best Dressed Class pizza party prize category. This year’s Best Dressed Class has been determined to be class 5H. Congratulations 5H!
The next prize category was for a separate Pizza Party for the class which raised the most money. This year we had a very special situation where two classes tied with each raising $739.00! As a result, there will be a joint Pizza Party for this year’s tied class winners who are – 1L and 1D. Congratulations 1L and 1D for your terrific efforts here!!!
P&C would also like to especially acknowledge the contributions and support we received from Classes 1/2A who raised $675.00, and 4B who raised $580.65. Your classes also made wonderful contributions as part of this year’s Walkathon fundraiser.
We also did the draw for the Bike kindly donated by our local Federal MP, Peter Dutton, in which the top 10 students who raised the most money went in the draw for. Again, we had a special situation this year where the 10th highest level of money raised by an individual student was $80.00, and we had three students who tied and raised this amount. As a result, we had 12 students in this draw. Mr Ian Flinders from the Dayboro Lions did the draw for us for the bike prize winner - Maali S (1L). Congratulations Maali!
Our final Walkathon prize draw was for the incentive prizes for students who raised over $50, and we had 23x Students who fell into this category. Mr Ian Flinders of the Lions again did the honour of drawing the three incentive prizes for Gift Cards for the Australian Geographic Shop. The First Incentive Prize is a Gift Card valued at $100.00 went to Avianna O-W (1D); the Second Incentive Prize is a Gift Card valued at $75.00 went to McKenzie P (Prep J); and the Third Incentive Prize is a Gift Card valued at $50.00 went to Eli M (1D). Congratulations Avianna, McKenzie and Eli!!!
Fathers’ Day Stall
P&C’s next event coming up shortly is the Fathers’ Day Stall which will take place in our Hall on Friday 30 August (9-1pm). Keep an eye out for P&C Facebook and School posts and notices about this stall, as well as for parent volunteer list to help us staff this stall for our students on this date.
