Principal's News
Dear Parents and Caregivers
Thank you to the school community for the support of our recent Walkathon. To date over $4600 has been collected from the event, which is a great result for our hard working P&C and ultimately, our students. On assembly yesterday the results and the recipients of the various prizes were announced and awarded. A full list of the prize recipients is in the P&C section of this newsletter. On behalf of the school, I would like to thank Mr Peter Dutton MP for the kind donation of the major bike prize and our local Dayboro IGA for the donation of $500 towards our fundraising efforts and also for the supply of the ice blocks for our students.
School Opinion Survey- Closes this Friday
Thank you to everyone who has taken the opportunity to provide feedback for our school by completing the School Opinion Survey. There is still time to complete this important survey- it closes THIS Friday August 23.
This confidential survey gives our school important feedback
about all aspects of our operations, assisting us to celebrate the great things we are doing and to make changes where they are necessary. Your assistance and support is much appreciated.
Book Week – Dress Up Parade
Tomorrow- Wednesday 21 August
To celebrate Book Week, our students are invited to dress as part of
the theme “Reading is my Secret Power” or to dress as their favourite book character. The parade will be held on our school oval at 9.00am – there are book prizes for a first, second and third best costume in each of P-2 and 3-6. A big thank you is extended to our OHSC provider, Helping Hands, for sponsoring this year’s event.
Book Week is always a highlight on the calendar and as a school we are looking forward to celebrating a love of reading with our students. Judges for this year’s event are Sergeant Ken and Helen Rhue.
Parent Teacher Interviews
Our school offers face-to-face parent/teacher interviews at the end of Term 1 and Term 3. We are nearing the time of the year to commence our planning and preparations for our parent/teacher interview process. Typically, the interviews are held in Weeks 9 and 10 (from 9- 20 September). If they haven’t done so already, teachers will be communicating information about their availability for interviews in the near future. I would encourage each parent to take the time to talk about their child’s progress and development with the class teacher.
