Deputy's News
Dear Families and Friends
Last Friday we held our Junior Athletics Carnival for Preps to Year 2 students. The children spent the morning joining in with a variety of fun filled sports activities like rocket throwing, hurdles, tunnel ball and of course running races. Thank you Mr D for organising this annual event and thank you to the teachers, parents and students for your participation, enthusiasm and energy!
Below are the places for each of the sprint finals for the day.

It is National Science Week this week and the theme is “Destination Moon.”
To acknowledge Science Week we have organised two very special visits. On Wednesday, Pine Rivers High will be visiting and holding a Science Immersion day for our whole school and on Friday the Year 4’s will be visiting Bray Park High School to take part in a range of stimulating Science tasks for STEAM day.
Queensland Ready Reading
The Ready Reading program invites parents and community members to make a difference in their local community by volunteering in schools to support children’s reading.
If you are interested in training to be a Reading Volunteer there are 3 training sessions coming up at the following locations and dates. We could certainly use more volunteers her at our school so if you are interested please contact Karen Ryan or Linda Smith through the School Office 34256111 and we can give you further information and details.
- Burpengary Meadows SS, Wednesday 14 August
- Hercules Road SS, Monday 26 August
- Strathpine West SS, Monday 16 September
Thank you to Mr D and all of the Prep-Yr 2 teachers for a successful and fun Junior Athletics Carnival last Friday.
Thank you from Mrs Ryan
