Dear Families and Friends

 Welcome to Week 4! The staff and students have spent the past few weeks getting to know each other, learning class expectations and routines as well as finding out exactly where they are in their learning and what their individual needs for improving are. The focus is now firmly on learning and the curriculum expectations are intensified as children begin working towards achieving their learning goals for the term. It is very important at this time that we encourage and support our students to work with a Growth mindset. Developing a Growth Mindset helps children to accept challenges, learn from their mistakes and renew their focus on what their goals are and how they are going to achieve their individual goals.  It is important that as parents we support our students to adopt a Growth Mindset and even to model one ourselves.

• Whole school Assembly every Monday at 9am- All parents welcome.
•  Instrumental lessons with our IM teacher John Smallcombe have started and band practice will continue to be Monday 8am. Notes and hire agreements for Instruments went out last week.

• Thank you to our teachers who hosted Pre-Service teachers in their classrooms for 3 weeks. It was the students’ last day on Monday. Dayboro school is proud of providing opportunities to share our quality teaching with other educational facilities and to help prepare future teachers for their chosen career.
• Thank you to those parents who attended the Parent sessions last week and thank you teachers for your hard work in preparing for these. Thank you also teachers for catching up with parents that were unable to attend.

PE Swimming Lessons Term One for Years 3 and 4

Lessons for Years 3 and 4 begin next week! Thanks for the tremendous response in returning permission slips and payment. Please make sure that all swimming gear, and school uniforms are clearly labelled to avoid things getting misplaced and lost.

A reminder that ALL students require swimmers, sun protective shirt, swim cap, towel and goggles all clearly named. Swimming starts Thursday 21/2 and finishes Friday 22/3.

Payments are due for swimming. Last day for payments will be Wednesday 20^th February. Children begin swimming the following day. Please return the permission  slips even if you have paid on online.
