Library Awards
We are very pleased to announce the introduction of a new Library Award for students. The purpose of this award is to acknowledge a student from each class who has demonstrated a consistent love of reading and books throughout a school term. To be considered for the award students need to demonstrate enjoyment of reading through regular borrowing, they should show respect for other Library users by returning books promptly, and need to show respect for school property by returning books in an undamaged condition.
Congratulations to our first 15 award recipients who were announced at assembly on Monday.
New Books
This week in the Library we have some of the new books which we were able to purchase with the funds raised through our recent Book Fair on display. Titles include new Choose Your Own adventure books with Superman and Batman, Mighty Robot series (by Dav Pilkey – the author of the Dog Man series), new titles in the Wings of Fire series, Bear Grylls Adventures series, and The Princess in Black series to name a few.
These books will be available for loan from next week. Keep an eye out for more new books on display next week. We would like to thank our school community once again for supporting Book Fair.

Book Week Is Coming!
Term Three is always a busy term in the Library. Week 6 of this term is Book Week and we have a couple of big events planned to help us celebrate. Wednesday the 21st of August is our character costume parade – traditionally we have held our costume parade on the school oval at 9.00 a.m. on this day. It is always wonderful to see so many creative and thoughtful costumes on show.
We have also booked Meerkats Productions to visit our school on Thursday the 22nd of August. The production team has been very busy scripting and reheasing their performances over the last few weeks. The books that have been selected are “Room On Our Rock” for P – 2 students and “The Peacock Detectives” for students in Years 3 – 6. Last year’s performances were highly engaging for our students and we are sure that this year’s performances will be just as amazing. More information about the Book Week performance will be sent home with students in the coming weeks.
