Readers Cup Competition

On Thursday, eight of our Year 6 students participated in the Readers Cup Competition at Kurwongbah State School.  Our two teams performed amazingly well across the 5 rounds of intense questioning.  We are very proud to announce that our two teams achieved a final ranking of 2^nd and 5^th in this regional competition. 

All of our team members should be very proud of their efforts in preparing for this competition and for the dedication they have shown in becoming so knowledgeable about the books they were assigned to read.

The students also had an opportunity to meet, and have books signed by, guest author Samantha Wheeler who was the MC for the event.  Samantha wrote one of the assigned books for this competition, “Wombat Warriors”.

Book Fair Thanks

Now that Book Fair has wrapped up for 2019, we would like to extend a very big “Thank you” to our Dayboro families.  This year a little over $6000 worth of books was sold at the Book Fair with a percentage of sales allocated to the Library to purchase resources.    The funds raised through this venture will be used to purchase books that have been requested by students.

We would also like to thank the P&C for their help and support during the Book Fair and Cara D for all of her time and effort in ensuring Book Fair ran smoothly.
