Dear Families and Friends
World Teachers’ and All Staff Day
On Friday 31st October we will be acknowledging and celebrating the important work all our staff do here at Dayboro State School. We have hard working, caring and supportive professionals here at Dayboro who take pride in the work they do every day to make a difference in every students’ learning. Not only do our staff prioritise every student being a successful learner academically, but we also value and teach our students how to be successful life-long learners who are caring, kind and respectful towards others. In our rapidly-changing world, these attributes are more important than ever and teaching our children how to be connected and collaborative with others remains a whole school priority. We thank our Dayboro team for your dedication and the positive impact you deliver.
PREP 2026 INTERVIEWS
Thank you to all our current and future Prep families for attending their Prep interviews last week. It was wonderful to see so many confident and happy new faces. Many we already know because they have older siblings at the school and /or they have attended playgroup and Prep Readiness sessions. It has been very rewarding to work so closely with our amazing Early Educators in our community as we have built and strengthened our relationships over the years and we have seen the difference working together makes for our learners. If you have not yet had a Prep Interview, please contact the office.
PREP 2026 INFORMATION SESSION
The information session for parents is on Thursday 6th November 5:30-6 in the Prep rooms. This is an information session where parents will learn all about the organisation of Prep, what to bring, stationery requirements and uniforms as well.
PREP ORIENTATION MORNINGS
This term we are holding our Prep 2026 Orientation mornings on Monday 10/11 9-9:30 in Prep J’s room and Monday 24/11 9-9:30 in Prep C’s room. These sessions are just for the children to meet the current Prep teachers and become familiar with our prep rooms. Most children will visit with their kindy groups. They do not need to go to both. One session is fine.
A reminder that Playgroup is on this Friday starting at the Helping Hands House 9am. Come along and join in the fun and get to know our school community.
Playgroup fun at the start of the term- Chalk Drawing.

We have had an increasing number of students not having any food to eat at second break. Most children say they have eaten all their food at first break, which is their choice to do so and this is up to them. However, we have had an increase in the number of children, especially younger children asking if they can go to the office at second break to ask for more food. Parents could you help please by having a conversation with your child/ children around lunches please and ask how they are going with the
amount of food provided, keeping in mind we do have two eating breaks. Thanks everyone.
Thank you to all our amazing staff at Dayboro state school. You all go above and beyond and your care and thoughtfulness for all our students is inspiring. We are all working together towards our common goal and hopes for our learners. Helping our learners to be the best learners and people they can be!
