Deputy's News
Dear Families and Friends
Once again what a fantastic start to the year our students have had. Week 3 is a very busy week for our school with Parent Information sessions the main focus of the week. We look forward to seeing you at these sessions as we believe the partnership between home and school is the key to maximising learning for our students.
See further information below:
PARENT INFORMATION SESSIONS
Please see below the timetable for the Parent Information Sessions for this week.
The intention of these sessions is for the class teachers to provide information about what will be happening across the year level and in individual classes throughout the 2019 school year.
It is also an opportunity for you as a parent to clarify any key points raised.
During this time, there will not be an opportunity for you to discuss individual needs or concerns regarding your child.
I know you will respect the fact that, should you have something to discuss with the teacher regarding your child, you will follow the protocol of organising a meeting with them. This will allow for a more personal approach and for the teacher to be prepared and fully present at the meeting.
- Whole school Assembly every Monday at 9am- All parents welcome.
- Our Special Leaders Induction Assembly will take place on Monday 18th February at 9am
- Instrumental lessons with our IM teacher John Smallcombe. will start Week 3 Monday 11th February for continuing students and notes and instruments for beginners have been sent home yesterday, ready for them to start next Monday. Please email Mr Smallcombe or phone the office if your child is not continuing.
- Prep Vision forms need to be returned to the Prep class teachers by this Wednesday.
PE Swimming Lessons Term One for Years 3 and 4
Lessons for Years 3 and 4 begin next week! Thanks for the tremendous response in returning permission slips and payment. Please make sure that all swimming gear, and school uniforms are clearly labelled to avoid things getting misplaced and lost.A reminder that ALL students require swimmers, sun protective shirt, swim cap, towel and goggles all clearly named. Swimming starts Thursday 21/2 and finishes Friday 22/3.ABSENCES
Please ring the school and give a reason for absence if your child is going to be away. School starts at 8:50 am and if children arrive after this time they are to go to the office for a late slip. All children departing early from school need to be signed out at the office first. It is important, especially in the first few weeks, that students attend regularly and for the whole day. Teachers in the first few weeks are setting expectations, establishing rules and routines and testing students to help cater for students needs and if children are absent during this time they miss out on this important beginning of year establishment phase.
Thank you from Mrs Ryan
Our Vision: “To inspire students to reach their full potential in a safe, caring and educationally challenging environment.”
