Readers Cup
Congratulations to both of our Readers Cup teams! Both teams worked cooperatively to answer their quiz questions on Tuesday, competing with a total of 59 teams from across the northern suburbs of Brisbane. All of our students participated enthusiastically and represented our school with pride.
Premier’s Reading Challenge
The 2025 Premiers Reading Challenge reading period began on the 6th of May. To complete the challenge students in Prep – Year 2 need to read or experience 20 books, students in Year 3 and Year 4 need to read 20 books, and students in Year 5 and Year 6 need to read 15 books.
Remember that every book you read, including ebooks, count towards our inter-house reading competition. Keep a record of your holiday reading – our sports captains and vice captains will resume counting class book tallies after the holiday break.
Congratulations to Terrors who are still in the lead of the reading tally – the other two houses are closing in on Terrors’ lead with consistently high reading being recorded by Armstrong and Rush houses over the last two weeks.
Overdue Books Reminder
With the school holidays starting in just over a week we would like to remind all students with overdue books to return them to the library as soon as possible. Students in Year 4 – Year 6 are welcome to borrow books to read over the break.
Remember that students in years 3, 4, 5, and 6 are also able to access eBooks and audio books using Sora. Students will need their MIS username to access this resource and need to ensure they enter their school as Education Queensland. Other online libraries, such as Moreton Bay Region Library accounts, can be linked through the app to provide access to a larger number of reading resources, including magazines.
Have a great week!
